Tags

Tags classify decisions by topic, team or anything else your organization cares about. They make decisions easy to find and let people follow what matters to them.

Tagging a decision

Add tags when you create or edit a decision. On the decision page, its owner, approvers and admins can change them. Start typing to pick an existing tag; each suggestion shows its description, if it has one.

Finding and following

  • Tags lists every tag and how many decisions carry it. Select one to see those decisions.
  • In Decisions, filter by one or more tags.
  • Subscribe to a tag to be notified about decisions that carry it, following your notification settings.

A shared vocabulary

New tag on the Tags page adds a tag before anyone uses it, with an optional description of when to use it.

Admins decide who may create tags, under Organization → Who can create new tags:

  • Anyone who writes decisions (the default): typing a new name while tagging a decision creates the tag.
  • Admins and approvers, or Admins only: everyone else picks from the existing tags, and is told who can add new ones.

Managing tags (admins)

On the Tags page, admins can change a tag's color, and Edit its name and description.

Renaming a tag to the name of another existing tag merges them: every decision, post and subscription moves to the other tag. Renaming back doesn't undo it.

There's no delete. To retire a tag, merge it into the one people should use instead.
