Related decisions and the graph

Decisions rarely stand alone. Linking them shows what depends on what, what replaces what, and what belongs together.

Linking decisions

On a decision, choose Link, find the other decision, and pick how they relate:

Related to: loosely related, with no dependency either way.
Blocks or Blocked by: one should be settled before the other. Approving or rejecting out of order shows a warning, but isn't prevented.
Duplicate of: the same decision recorded twice; the other one is the one to keep.
Supersedes or Superseded by: one replaces the other. Superseding a decision adds this link for you.

Links show on both decisions, each from its own side.

Adding a link: contributors, approvers and admins.
Removing a link: the owner of either decision, approvers and admins.
A Supersedes or Superseded by link records that one decision replaced another, so only an admin can remove it.

Adding and removing a link both appear in the decision's timeline.

Graph on a decision opens a map of its connections.

Drag a decision to move it; Reset layout puts moved ones back.
Scroll or pinch to zoom, drag the background to pan, and double-click the background to fit everything on screen.
Select a decision to see its details and open it.
A badge such as +3 means more connections: select it to show them.
Layout switches between force-directed, left to right, top to bottom and radial.

Decisions you can't see are never shown.
