Roles and access
Everyone in an organization has one of four roles. Each includes everything the one before it can do.
Reader
- Sees every organization-wide decision, and restricted ones they've been added to.
- Posts in discussions, subscribes, adds favorites and acknowledges decisions.
- Can't add options, link decisions or approve. Creating a decision makes a reader a contributor.
Contributor
- Creates decisions, and edits and manages the ones they own.
- Adds and edits options on any decision they can see, until it's approved.
- Links decisions, and removes links from the decisions they own.
Approver
- Approves and rejects decisions.
- Sees every decision, restricted ones included.
- Manages any decision the way its owner can: status, approvers, tags, collaborators, acknowledgements, links, revisits and superseding.
- Deletes other people's posts, when needed.
Admin
- Everything an approver can do, and can approve even decisions assigned to specific approvers.
- Runs the administration pages: users, groups, templates, the organization and deleted decisions.
- Manages tags: colors, names, descriptions and merging.
- Removes Supersedes links between decisions, which nobody else can.
- Deletes decisions.
Restricted decisions
A restricted decision is visible only to its owner, admins, approvers and its collaborators, the people or groups its owner, approvers or admins add. Everyone else doesn't see it at all, not in lists, search or the dashboard.
