Getting started

Decretum keeps a record of what your organization decided, who approved it and why. This page covers your first ten minutes.

  • Decretum cloud: enter your email address and we email you a 6-digit code, or use Google or Microsoft. There's no password.
  • Your own installation: sign in with your email address and password, or with Google, Microsoft or your organization's single sign-on if your administrator has set them up. Forgot your password? Use Forgot password? on the sign-in page.

If you were invited, sign in with the address the invitation went to and you join that organization. On the cloud, signing in without an invitation starts a new organization, with you as its admin.

Find your way around

  • Dashboard is home: your own decisions, what's waiting for you (approvals, acknowledgements), numbers for the whole organization and recent activity. Customize reorders or hides its sections.
  • Decisions lists every decision you can see, with search and filters.
  • Tags lists the tags your organization uses.
  • The bell holds your notifications. Settings, including your language, is next to it.

Record your first decision

  1. Open Decisions and choose New decision.
  2. Give it a title that says what was decided, and a summary with the reasoning. If your organization has templates, picking one fills in structure, tags and approvers.
  3. Add tags, and approvers if it needs sign-off.
  4. Choose who can see it: everyone in the organization, or restricted to you, admins, approvers and the people you add.
  5. Create it. It starts as New. Move it to In discussion when you want input, and to Pending approval when it's ready for sign-off.

Invite your team

Admins invite people under Manage users: paste one or more email addresses and pick a role. Each person gets an email with a sign-up link (where email is set up) and joins your organization when they sign up. Roles and access explains what each role can do.

Look around first

The live demo is a read-only organization full of sample decisions.
