Discussion

Every decision has a discussion, where people add context, raise concerns and weigh in before it's settled. Anyone who can see a decision can post, readers included.

Posting

Write in the box under the discussion and choose Post. Posts are rich text, so you can use formatting, links, images and video.

  • Mention someone with @ and their name. They're notified.
  • Attach files by choosing them or dragging them onto the box, up to 20 MB each.
  • Quote a post from its menu, to reply to a specific point.

The first post on a New decision moves it to In discussion. The owner, approvers and admins also get Post & request approval, which posts and moves the decision to Pending approval in one step.

Editing and deleting

You can edit or delete your own posts. Approvers and admins can also delete other people's posts; the post then shows who deleted it and when. Deleting removes the post's text and attachments for good.

Turning a post into an option

If a post suggests an alternative, choose Add as option from its menu. The option is prefilled from the post and linked back to it. See Options considered.

Finding what was said

The decisions search looks through discussions as well as titles and summaries, and shows the matching posts. On a decision, Posts only hides the other timeline events so you can read just the conversation.
